Royal visit for Royal Southern
HRH The Duke of Edinburgh is to officially open the Royal Southern Yacht Club's rebuilt pier and restored period cottages at Hamble. The Grade II listed cottages, containing 11 bedrooms and a master suite, will form the new club accommodation.
Work has taken two years and includes provision of new reception and administration offices and a chart room. The RSYC Commodore, Mrs Annette Newton, said the club was thrilled that Prince Phillip had agreed to visit the club next month. "His Royal Highness has been a Club member for over 50 years," she said, "and we look forward to seeing him again."
