Photos of the boat show through the years
This year, the Southampton Boat Show celebrates its 40th birthday.
To help mark the occasion, National Boat Shows has rummaged through its archives and put together a gallery of images of the show through the years.
Peer into the past and see the show as it was 40 years ago, or check out what the show guide looked like in the heady days of 1972.
The government declared a state of emergency over the miners' strike, the Watergate scandal broke and Richard Milhous Nixon 'opened' China, but, more importantly, the Southampton show guide cost just 15 pence.
