What if I pull out?

Information on our refund policy

See the answer..

Answer

For all our cruises, detailed arrangements have to be made which are dependent on the number of boats taking part. We consequently have to levy a fee if your booking is accepted and you subsequently have to cancel.

If you need to cancel up to two months prior to the event, we will refund your fee, less a £75 admin fee. For cancellations between one and two months in advance, the refund is 50% of the entry fee. For cancellations made one month or less in advance, the entire fee is forfeit.

If there are reasons for your cancellation that are covered by your travel insurance policy, we can issue a letter confirming your loss of entry fees on request.

No refund is due if a boat is excluded due to lack of compliance with our equipment, paperwork and important information. Refunds are not due for curtailment, itinerary changes or incomplete cruises, when the cause is beyond MBM's control. Problems with poor weather fall into this category.

Compensation due if an event has to be cancelled altogether will be limited to a sum equal to the booking fee paid.

Will I get a place?

How to ensure you get a place on the cruise

Answer

The number of boats on each event is limited to around 25. Priority will be given to those who have not cruised with us before and for these, places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Remaining spaces will be allocated to past participants on an out-of-the-hat basis.

Places on events will not be allocated until 26 February 2010. Only if a cruise is undersubscribed will we continue to accept bookings after that deadline.

Confirmation of your booking will be sent to you as soon as possible after 2 March. If you do not get a place, we will keep you on a waiting list and notify you if a space becomes available.

Answer

Every paid-up subscriber to MBM is automatically a member of the Cruising Club, and our cruises are also open to any other crews at a £10 premium.

Craft taking part can range from 21ft cruisers to motoryachts of over 60ft, with top speeds from 6 knots upwards. The main proviso is that we must be satisfied that boats are seaworthy and capable of the required range without refuelling.

Entry fees are for the boat only, so who comes along is up to the owner. Your children and friends are welcome. Entry fees exclude fuel and moorings.
