In June's issue of MBM, we pitched the Volvo D4-powered Fairline Targa 38 against Monterey's 375. You can see footage from the exclusive head to head below.

When Fairline announced it was going to stick 260hp D4 engines in its T38, we were a little sceptical; after all, boatbuying wisdom says you should always choose the biggest engines.

But we were blown away by the power packed into these D4s, and the boat's performance was just as exhilarating as the D6-powered T38's.

The Monterey, meanwhile, really impressed, mainly because of its starting price - £170,000. This is a great 37ft sportscruiser for 35ft money.
