Fairline unveils Squadron 41 and calls time on Phantoms

The new 41 will be released next year, and forms the spearhead of Fairline's re-branding of all its flybridge boats as Squadrons

Fairline today released details of a new Squadron 41, which will make its official debut in summer next year.

The two en-suite, two-cabin boat is spearheading Fairline’s move to brand all its future flybridge boats as Squadrons, signalling the end of the well-known Phantom brand.

Over the next five years, Fairline plans to take the number of Squadrons in the line-up to 15, running from 35ft to 85ft. This will make the Oundle-based builder a two-brand company, with the sportier Targa range and the flybridge Squadron range.

This new boat, despite being almost 15ft shorter than the next smallest Squadron, the 55, is still “every inch a Squadron, carrying many of the design and technology advances pioneered in the larger models”, Fairline said.

The new 41 will boast “class-leading accommodation, a light and airy saloon and sumptuous furnishings”, according to the builder, which added that the 41 will be the most voluminous 40ft Fairline yet.

The boat’s designer, Adam Greenwood, said: “The Squadron 55, which was launched in the autumn of 2008, challenged every element of design and styling and we questioned the validity and efficiency of each component part of the boat.

“The resultant model won critical acclaim and awards and we have continued the same demanding schedule with the introduction of each subsequent Squadron. I believe that our latest offering, the Squadron 41, will certainly turn as many heads.”
