Bonjour Binic

It was another chilly and overcast start to the day at Port d’Armor, St Quay Portrieux. Today the fleet would depart as planned at 1630hrs, this gave crews most of the day to venture into town for the last time. For 10 boats it was also an ideal opportunity to take on fuel, as the next fuel stop would be St Peter Port, Guernsey.

About an hour before departure everyone was ready and seemed excited in anticipation of the next move. When 1630hrs came, Blue Fin departed first and the boats exited the marina one by one. Access to Binic is limited and today the MBM fleet had just an hour and thirty minutes before high water to enter the harbour.

Just 5 miles and 20 minutes later the fleet of 24 boats were assembling on the visitors pontoon in the pretty seaside town of Binic. It was obviously quite a spectacle as crowds of onlookers had gathered along the town quay above the pontoon to watch.

Tomorrow is a rest day in Binic. There will be a briefing regarding the move to St Malo followed by a Pontoon Party.
