Oundle-based boatbuilder to make further cuts after shedding 365 posts since financial crisis began

Fairline factory

Fairline has announced plans to make 70 redundancies from the administration side of its business, but hopes to redeploy a number of those staff into production.

The Oundle-based company is currently within a 30-day consultation period on the redundancies, and said it was not able to comment further.

At the close of the consultation period in early December, the "company will be in a position to confirm the actual number of redundancies", a statement said.

The cuts follow others earlier this year, which saw the total number of redundancies at Fairline climb to 365 since the financial crisis began.

This latest round of redundancies should push that figure beyond 400.
