MBM’s Cruising Club kicks off on Friday

Our first cruise of the season, MBM's Cross-Channel Experience, is due to start on Friday so don't forget to follow our blogs and check out the video of our new Cruising Club RIB

MBM’s 2011 Cruising Club campaign, sponsored by Pantaenius Yacht Insurance, starts this weekend with the Cross-Channel Experience, which starts in Portsmouth and plans to visit Cherbourg, Carteret, Jersey and Guernsey over its eight-day duration. The fleet will meet at Royal Clarence Marina in Gosport on Friday and – weather permitting – will set off the following day. Follow the progress of the 25-strong fleet by reading our Cruising Club blogs.

In a slight change to our published plan, our control boat and staff quarters for this year’s cruises, Blue Fin, will once again be the Jeanneau Prestige 38S, as due to popular demand Jeanneau was unable to supply an NC11 in time for our 2011 campaign.

Our second fast support boat Time Flies will be a six-metre RIB, a Ribeye A600 (see footage below), kindly supplied by Dartmouth-based company Ribeye.

Weather permitting these two boats will cover over 500 miles and rack up over 200 hours during the 2011 two-cruise programme.
