Princess 82: exclusive images

MD uses new boat launches to send out strong message on development and style

Princess Yachts officially unveiled the new 52 and 82 models at the 2013 Tullet Prebon London

Boat Show
this morning.

Chris Gates, managing director of Princess, said, “We are going through a reinvention of products, and are creating a very fresh feel. The interiors are modern, contemporary and exciting.”

Gates went on to say, “Our new range of boats are giving us a new image, which started with the V39 and 40m launched last year. What you will see is great value, more volume and more luxury.”

Two more boats from Princess are due to be launched in 2013, with an IPS-powered V48 coming late spring and an 88MY arriving late summer.

The new 82 features what might be the standout moment of the show, with a stunning flybridge offering jaw-dropping levels of space and luxury. A hardtop roof over the upper helm creates a purposeful feel, with the single helm position flanked by two sets of wraparound guest seats. Aft, a long sweep of wet-bar and seating lead to an open deck for tender stowage or sun lounging. The foredeck also includes a very private lounge area.

Inside the 82, the saloon enjoys an incredible run of side windows, big enough to park your average boat in, and some impressive bespoke detailing to the cabinetry. The four cabins are all exceptional but, of course, it is the master cabin with its midship hull windows and full beam en suite that takes the plaudits.

Princess was keen to reinfoce the fact that its hulls are unique to each model, and not shared across several different cruiser types. The 82’s hull is a serious cruising design, intended to deliver efficient, long-distance performance for its owners.
