Shepperton Marina completes £1.17m upgrade project

The West London dock has added a new 30-berth pontoon as part of a three-year development

In response to high demand for moorings in the West London area, Shepperton Marina has completed £1.17m of upgrades.

Shepperton now houses 330-moorings, following a three-year project adding new pontoons, as well as adding a new toilet block and replacing diesel tanks.

More than half of the funds were spent on the construction of a new basin for 70 narrowboats and barges up to 80-feet long.

Other upgrades include a new 30-berth pontoon and the replacement of its oldest floating mooring, meaning that every pontoon at Shepperton has been replaced within the past ten years.

John Harris, marina supervisor at Shepperton, told MBM that they are not resting on their laurels, however:

“We still have a lot of projects happening in the background and even plans to expand into a fourth basin.”
