A big beast of a cabin RIB with separate toilet compartment

For: Solid build and separate cabin and toilet
Against: A serious step up in size and price

The Italian-built Marlin 29 doesn't mess about. It's big, beamy and brash - making it ideal for extended cruising.

The RIB's size - 29ft 8in long and 10ft 9in wide - allows for a generous, if primitive, cabin.

Deep, wide and bright, this is a cabin in which you could really spend some time, swing cats and get over your claustrophobia.

An overhead hatch provides light and air, while solid teak louvered cabin doors allow additional ventilation.

The toilet and shower compartment is set into the helm console and offers standing headroom.

On deck, the Marlin has the luxury of space, and manages to fit in a bathing platform, fixed sunpad, cockpit bench seating and forward cockpit.

Despite its size, the RIB delivers an extremely comfortable and surprisingly agile ride, holding its speed well through the turns.

When you consider that the ranks of Marlin 29 owners include one Jenson Button, it shouldn't come as a surprise to find out this Med-friendly RIB has bags on on-water ability.

Verdict

A cruising RIB with a big boat attitude and accommodation to match.
