This proved to be one of MBM's best Cruising Club support boats yet
| For: | Great value, solid build, practical layout, soft, dry ride |

| Against: | Leaky fore locker, engine fault |
It takes commitment and a fair bit of faith to blast across the Channel in a 23ft boat.
The XS-700 Deluxe was 2008's Cruising Club RIB and it spent its time doing just that.
Over a full season and some 130 sea miles, it proved to be one of our best boats yet.
The four-cylinder 200hp Mercury Verado outboard offered powerful yet super-quiet performance from an electric push-button start.
A very smooth electronic throttle delivered comfortable and effortless control, which really came into its own during close-quarter manoeuvres.
As the weather scout boat, the RIB was tested in a mixture of conditions and proved itself to be both nimble and poised.
Heading upwind, short sharp chop was no problem, and with the weather behind the XS-700 surfed the waves with ease.
Tested August 2009
Verdict
The XS-700 was given a stern test as our Cruising Club RIB, and it passed with flying colours.
