An unabashed speed machine with a little bit of sportscruiser practicality

There aren't many boats that make 30 knots feel pedestrian, but this is one of them. The Yamarin 80DC was built pretty much from the ground up to handle Yamaha's new top-of-the-range F350 outboard.
The DC stands for Day Cruiser, and the 80 refers to the boat's 8m length, but first impressions of the boat suggest that it's a lot smaller than this.
Compared to your typically bulky sportscruiser, the 80DC is actually quite petite, with a freeboard that is low even by sportsboat standards. This impacts space, and while the boat can sleep four, the forward cabin is really more of a cuddy, with a forward V-berth and a sea toilet to starboard.
The other two berths are located beneath the cockpit floor, but these are very tight. The cockpit of this boat makes a lot more sense - there's loads of seating, a dinette and the galley.
On the water, the 80DC's performance is staggering, pushing past 50 knots, but when you learn you're burning 127lt of fuel per hour at this speed, throttling back to 30 knots is the thing to do.
It feels light on the water, and the V8 engine is surprisingly quiet. A downside is that the helm can get quite wet in tight turns in confused seas.
